In 2013 I bought a new robot called AISOY1 from Aisoy Robotics SL located in Spain which happens to be my home country. Here to the post in case you’re interested in getting more infos on the robot itself. I really enjoyed working with it but it was not running smoothly and as a student I needed some money, so I decided to sell it. Now I started wondering what happened to the company since I wanted to get some information if a new upgrade was available and it seems that the homepage was not updated for a long time. I’m really into social robots and this little guy is quite affordable and you get good value for money. I was thinking on buying a new, improved version but I couldn’t find any info and AISOY was already sold out for a while. I also couldn’t find any articles or news on the company via google search.

In January, 2022 Aisoy Robotics introduced a new robot called Aiko via Twitter aka X. “Meet Aiko, the relational AI robot that promotes learning through play” (@aisoyrobotics)

I really love the design of this robot! But sadly the link for pre-ordering does not work anymore. I also couldn’t find any information on where to buy one of those cute fellas. I tried the Youtube Channel, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn… And there were no further information.

So I used my old Facebook Account in order to see if I was successful there and now everything clears up a bit. I found a comment from July 2022 in which they stated that there was a big delay in manufacturing the robots since there were some issues with getting the electrical components etc. Here the comment:

It seems that they are struggling with getting the needed hardware for manufacturing robots. But there should be an official statement on their homepage…. So now I decided to reach out and wait…
